# Smaze and TRT-1 wins the SpotCup 2 div 1!
Monday 10, March 2003 at 23:05
Last night, the season finale of the SpotCup 2 division 1 was held at the hated Mexico track. As TRT-1 driver Söderquist was unable to attend, due to illness, it was clear that Smaze had already won the league before this race. Westerlund was also unable to attend this race.

Smaze had a decent qualifying session, and managed to take P2 with a 1m46.350s lap. Mossberg took pole with an impressive 1m45.855s.

Smaze had a pretty good start, for once, and managed to overtake Mossberg going into turn one. On lap 3 Mossberg made a mistake, which saw him falling back to 7th. Meanwhile Smaze had an uneventful race, keeping a 1-3s distance to second placed driver, Arlt. On lap 14, however, Mossberg had managed to advance through the field, and was caught up with Smaze. Shortly after this, Mossberg managed to overtake Smaze for the lead, quite easily. He kept the lead and won the race with a 9s margin to Smaze in second. Congrats to Mossberg. Amazing pace.

A race report can be found here.

Babylon from DHR had a close fight with Stċhl from NorthWest in this race, as well as in the league. They were fighting for third place, and Babylon came out as the winner of the two. Congrats to Babylon on the third place in the league.

Christian Westerlund, with three poles and two victories, finished sixth in the league. He would've done a lot better, if it weren't for his night shifts.

Magnus Söderquist, with one pole and two victories, had already secured the second place in the league before this race. Congrats!

Smaze, with three poles, two victories, and unbeaten consistency, won the driver's championship. Congrats!

TRT-1 won the team's championship with a margin of 145 points to second placed DHR-1. NorthWest finished third, 20 points behind DHR-1.

# The closing Minute League race at Falkenberg.
Wednesday 18, December 2002
Christian Westerlund finishes 4th in the final round of the Minute League at Falkenberg. Smaze was in 4th position at lap 23 when his machine suddenly locked up hard. He is not too unhappy about this though, since he has already won the league. Söderquist was out of town and did not attend the race.

Smaze wins the league, followed by Hector Babylon (DHR), Christian Westerlund, Nathan Ċkerlund (DHR), and Magnus Söderquist. TRT-1 wins the team championship just as expected!

# GPL-Spot Cup 2 Division 2 at Silverstone, Nürburgring, Mosport and Monza.

Here are some late "news" from the last few races of the 2nd season in Spot Cup Div 2.

Silverstone (030202):
Only two drivers attended this race for TRT-2, since Zio was missing.
Qualifying didn't go to well for TRT-2 and resulted in a 14th and 16th spot on the grid. Juan-Pablo Johansson took an amazing pole at 1m27.960s.
Times for TRT-2, Fredrik Djurner 1m32.971s and Zacke 1m38.240s.

The race went alot better for TRT-2. Amazingly both our drivers racing, managed to climb not less than five places each. When crossing the checkered flag, Fredrik Djurner was in 9th place and Zacke in 11th. Good work!
Juan-Pablo Johansson grabbed a comfortable 1st spot. Congratulations!

Nürburring (030209):
Yet again, only two drivers attended for TRT-2. This time Zacke was missing.
Qualifying didn't go well at all for TRT-2, especially not Zio, who didn't manage to get a valid time. Fredrik Djurner placed 12th with 9m13.535s and Zio at 16th and last.
The time for Fredrik Djurner stopped at 9m13.535s. Pole went to Juan-Pablo Johansson with 8m24.003s.
The race didn't turn out to well for TRT-2 either. Alot of incidents on the track, as usual. Fredrik Djurner managed to finnish in 12th spot and Zio grabbed a safe 15th spot. Zio was also the only driver who managed to get lapped.
Juan-Pablo Johansson didn't manage to hold on to his pole and placed third. Urban Alsenmyr grabbed the 1st spot by finnishing 0m00.799s in front of Robert Natblom.
Amazing! And congratulations to Urban.

Mosport (030216):
Once more, only two drivers arrived at the track for TRT-2. This time Zio was missing again.
Qualifying wasn't bad, but TRT-2 still only managed to get 9th and 13th spot. Fredrik took 9th with 1m24.282s and Zacke took 13th with 1m26.101s.
Pole went, once more, to Juan-Pablo Johansson with 1m22.150s.
The race was no big hit for TRT-2. Fredrik Djurner dropped down one place and Zacke gained one. Both drivers lapped, Zacke twice.
Robert Natblom managed to take the win quite comfortably in front of Juan-Pablo Johansson.
Second race in a row where Juan-Pablo Johansson has pole, but doesn't manage to hold it. Reminds me of another Juan-Pablo. ;)
Congratulations to Robert Natblom for the victory.

Monza (030223):
This race would only have one driver from TRT-2 showing up. Once more Zio was missing, this time due to illness. He will be back next race. Zacke had also gone missing.
Feeling very lonely, Fredrik only managed to place 11th on qualifying with 1m30.069s.
Pole went to Göran Johansson with 1m28.827s, 0.002s ahead of 2nd, Anders Mansell, and 0.067s ahead of 3rd, Henrik Immelmark.

Fredrik did one of his strongest performances this season, I believe, when he managed to climb six positions!!! Did he put a brick on the pedal? Jecco didn't want to be worse and climbed an amazing seven spots!
Fredrik placed 5th, right in front Jecco. Henrik Immelmark grabbed 1st spot. Congratulations.

Qualifying at the Nürburgring (Nordschleife) is always a tricky business. TRT drivers Westerlund and Söderquist decided to go for a two lap assault of the track, while Smaze opted for a three lap run. The two lap run would prove more effective, as Söderquist grabbed provisional pole on his first flyer, and finally put in the quickest lap for pole on his final lap. The time was a new personal best at 8m01.664s. Smaze put his Lotus in third, and Westerlund took fourth.

The always dangerous start at the ring went fairly smooth, and Söderquist held on to first into the first corner. Eventually he made a misstake on the third lap, and was passed by Torbjörn Stċhl (Northwest Racing) who drove an excellent race to finish in first place. Then followed Söderquist in second, Westerlund in third and Smaze in fourth. All in all, a very successful race for TRT.

TRT now holds a firm grip on the team championship, leading DHR with an impressive 63 points. In the drivers championship it is more exciting. Smaze still holds on to the lead, but only by one point, from Söderquist. Westerlund is in fourth, only eight points behind Hector Babylon in third.
