# Smaze and TRT-1 wins the SpotCup 2 div 1!
Monday 10, March 2003 at 23:05
Last night, the season finale of the SpotCup 2 division 1 was held at the hated Mexico track. As TRT-1 driver Söderquist was unable to attend, due to illness, it was clear that Smaze had already won the league before this race. Westerlund was also unable to attend this race.

Smaze had a decent qualifying session, and managed to take P2 with a 1m46.350s lap. Mossberg took pole with an impressive 1m45.855s.

Smaze had a pretty good start, for once, and managed to overtake Mossberg going into turn one. On lap 3 Mossberg made a mistake, which saw him falling back to 7th. Meanwhile Smaze had an uneventful race, keeping a 1-3s distance to second placed driver, Arlt. On lap 14, however, Mossberg had managed to advance through the field, and was caught up with Smaze. Shortly after this, Mossberg managed to overtake Smaze for the lead, quite easily. He kept the lead and won the race with a 9s margin to Smaze in second. Congrats to Mossberg. Amazing pace.

A race report can be found here.

Babylon from DHR had a close fight with Stċhl from NorthWest in this race, as well as in the league. They were fighting for third place, and Babylon came out as the winner of the two. Congrats to Babylon on the third place in the league.

Christian Westerlund, with three poles and two victories, finished sixth in the league. He would've done a lot better, if it weren't for his night shifts.

Magnus Söderquist, with one pole and two victories, had already secured the second place in the league before this race. Congrats!

Smaze, with three poles, two victories, and unbeaten consistency, won the driver's championship. Congrats!

TRT-1 won the team's championship with a margin of 145 points to second placed DHR-1. NorthWest finished third, 20 points behind DHR-1.

# The closing Minute League race at Falkenberg.
Wednesday 18, December 2002
Christian Westerlund finishes 4th in the final round of the Minute League at Falkenberg. Smaze was in 4th position at lap 23 when his machine suddenly locked up hard. He is not too unhappy about this though, since he has already won the league. Söderquist was out of town and did not attend the race.

Smaze wins the league, followed by Hector Babylon (DHR), Christian Westerlund, Nathan Ċkerlund (DHR), and Magnus Söderquist. TRT-1 wins the team championship just as expected!

# GPL-Spot Cup 2 Division 2 at Silverstone, Nürburgring, Mosport and Monza.
Monday 24, February 2003 at 22:03 CET
Here are some late "news" from the last few races of the 2nd season in Spot Cup Div 2.

Silverstone (030202):
Only two drivers attended this race for TRT-2, since Zio was missing.
Qualifying didn't go to well for TRT-2 and resulted in a 14th and 16th spot on the grid. Juan-Pablo Johansson took an amazing pole at 1m27.960s.
Times for TRT-2, Fredrik Djurner 1m32.971s and Zacke 1m38.240s.

The race went alot better for TRT-2. Amazingly both our drivers racing, managed to climb not less than five places each. When crossing the checkered flag, Fredrik Djurner was in 9th place and Zacke in 11th. Good work!
Juan-Pablo Johansson grabbed a comfortable 1st spot. Congratulations!

Nürburring (030209):
Yet again, only two drivers attended for TRT-2. This time Zacke was missing.
Qualifying didn't go well at all for TRT-2, especially not Zio, who didn't manage to get a valid time. Fredrik Djurner placed 12th with 9m13.535s and Zio at 16th and last.
The time for Fredrik Djurner stopped at 9m13.535s. Pole went to Juan-Pablo Johansson with 8m24.003s.
The race didn't turn out to well for TRT-2 either. Alot of incidents on the track, as usual. Fredrik Djurner managed to finnish in 12th spot and Zio grabbed a safe 15th spot. Zio was also the only driver who managed to get lapped.
Juan-Pablo Johansson didn't manage to hold on to his pole and placed third. Urban Alsenmyr grabbed the 1st spot by finnishing 0m00.799s in front of Robert Natblom.
Amazing! And congratulations to Urban.

Mosport (030216):
Once more, only two drivers arrived at the track for TRT-2. This time Zio was missing again.
Qualifying wasn't bad, but TRT-2 still only managed to get 9th and 13th spot. Fredrik took 9th with 1m24.282s and Zacke took 13th with 1m26.101s.
Pole went, once more, to Juan-Pablo Johansson with 1m22.150s.
The race was no big hit for TRT-2. Fredrik Djurner dropped down one place and Zacke gained one. Both drivers lapped, Zacke twice.
Robert Natblom managed to take the win quite comfortably in front of Juan-Pablo Johansson.
Second race in a row where Juan-Pablo Johansson has pole, but doesn't manage to hold it. Reminds me of another Juan-Pablo. ;)
Congratulations to Robert Natblom for the victory.

Monza (030223):
This race would only have one driver from TRT-2 showing up. Once more Zio was missing, this time due to illness. He will be back next race. Zacke had also gone missing.
Feeling very lonely, Fredrik only managed to place 11th on qualifying with 1m30.069s.
Pole went to Göran Johansson with 1m28.827s, 0.002s ahead of 2nd, Anders Mansell, and 0.067s ahead of 3rd, Henrik Immelmark.

Fredrik did one of his strongest performances this season, I believe, when he managed to climb six positions!!! Did he put a brick on the pedal? Jecco didn't want to be worse and climbed an amazing seven spots!
Fredrik placed 5th, right in front Jecco. Henrik Immelmark grabbed 1st spot. Congratulations.

# TRT-1 takes 2nd, 3rd and 4th at the green hell.
Saturday 15, February 2003 at 17:41
Qualifying at the Nürburgring (Nordschleife) is always a tricky business. TRT drivers Westerlund and Söderquist decided to go for a two lap assault of the track, while Smaze opted for a three lap run. The two lap run would prove more effective, as Söderquist grabbed provisional pole on his first flyer, and finally put in the quickest lap for pole on his final lap. The time was a new personal best at 8m01.664s. Smaze put his Lotus in third, and Westerlund took fourth.

The always dangerous start at the ring went fairly smooth, and Söderquist held on to first into the first corner. Eventually he made a misstake on the third lap, and was passed by Torbjörn Stċhl (Northwest Racing) who drove an excellent race to finish in first place. Then followed Söderquist in second, Westerlund in third and Smaze in fourth. All in all, a very successful race for TRT.

TRT now holds a firm grip on the team championship, leading DHR with an impressive 63 points. In the drivers championship it is more exciting. Smaze still holds on to the lead, but only by one point, from Söderquist. Westerlund is in fourth, only eight points behind Hector Babylon in third.

# TRT-1 fills up yet another podium!
Wednesday 11, December 2002
Smaze wins the race at Lydden Hill in the Minute League, followed by Magnus Söderquist and Christian Westerlund. This also secures the league title for Smaze. Congrats!

# GPL-Spot Cup 2 Division 2 at Watkins Glen.
Sunday 2, March 2003 at 22:00 CET
This evenings race was held at Watkins Glen, USA.
The track is the shortest one on the SC2 calendar, and the races here tend to be chaotic, to say the least. This evening was no exception.

TRT-2 had two drivers qualifying at Watkins, Patrik "Zio" Sögaard and Fredrik "Dulann" Djurner.
Ola "Zacke" Ask was missing.
Dulann did a good qualifying session, fastest lap going at 1m06.647s. This placed Dulann 9th on the grid, only 2 hundreds of a second behind the 8th spot. Tough luck.
Zio placed 13th, and last, with his 1m09.779s.
Pole was grabbed by Robert Natblom with 1m05.240s.

The start of the race went suprisingly smooth, the rest of the race didn't.
This is where the chaos comes in. Almost every lap had racing incidents, and quite many had several. Dulann managed to climb and grab 5th spot. Zio managed to climb after the start, but only temporarily. Zio finnished 12th, due to Anders Mansell retireing.
The race was won by Per Lundholm, by taking out Kane while fighting for 2nd position. Not so impressive at all.

Until next weekend.
/Zio

# TRT movie productions releases "Go Faster".
Monday 17, February 2003 at 13:36
Tonight TRT releases its first GPL movie entitled TRT the movie - "Go Faster".

It's a fairly laid back movie with different shots, mostly from races run with the swedish gpl site gpl-spot (www.gpl-spot.nu). The movie features an awesome soundtrack with songs by the Black Crowes and others.

You'll find it at the features page:

# Smaze breaks the -50 barrier!
Wednesday 5, February 2003 at 02:35
Smaze just managed to break the -50 GPLRank handicap barrier. He accomplished this while training for the upcoming SpotCup 2 race at Nurburgring, setting a lap time of 8:03.47, which is an improvement of his personal best by 4.5s. Congrats, Smaze!

Now, who will be the first TRT driver to reach -60? Place your bets today.

# Bad news for TRT-2 at Spa-Francorchamps.
Tuesday 21, January 2003 at 00:10
While Dulann was on his first lap, he got his car smashed up, in the last turn, due to a seriously stupid move by Animal. Dulann got a 20s penalty and a warning, because he reset his car a few metres after the finishing line while in the pit and didn't stop for a "second" stop'n'go on the second lap. If he had reset his car just before the finishing line, it would've been all OK. This resulted in Dulann being moved down from 5th to 9th place. Once again, the very anal stop'n'go rule in the Spot-Cup (2) shows its strength.

Zio was disqualified due to accidently resetting his car while on the starting grid. Also, he'll not be allowed to qualify for the next race at Rouen. Bad bad Zio. :)

# Smaze dominates the SC2 race at Watkins Glen!
Monday 3, March 2003 at 04:00 CET
The SpotCup 2 held its 10th race out of 11 tonight, this time at the popular circuit Watkins Glen. Once again this proved to be a successful event for TRT-1.

Smaze had a brilliant qualifying session. On his second flying lap he recorded a 1m03.974s time, and on his third lap an amazing 1m03.878s. After this he didn't really see any point on trying to improve on that time, so he cruised around the circuit for a few laps, and then he decided to wait out the rest of the session in the pits, with about 10 minutes to go.
Söderquist had a good session as well, but had a bit of bad luck with traffic. Karl Arlt got in the way of a TRT-1 1-2-3 qualifying by taking P2 with 1m04.171s. Söderquist took P3 with 1m04.273s, and Westerlund P4 with 1m04.326s.

The race started off pretty well for the TRT drivers. Unfortunately Karl Arlt got taken out in T1 due to a strange warping incident. With Arlt out of the picture, TRT-1 seemed to be going for an easy 1-2-3 victory, with Smaze in the lead followed by Söderquist and Westerlund. On lap 8, however, Söderquist lost focus for a hundredth of a second, which saw him crash in the Loop. This cost him a reset, which means that he had to do a stop'n'go. After this he was at the back of the field, but managed to climb to 6th in the end. Smaze, who won here in the previous season as well, won the somewhat uneventful race tonight, followed by Westerlund. Congratulations Smaze and TRT-1 on the 1-2 victory!

Here's an unofficial race report,
http://djurner.com/trt/reports/SC2_Watglen_Div1/

As you already know, TRT-1 has already won the teams' championship. The drivers' championship is a little bit more interesting, though. Tonight's results mean that either Smaze or Söderquist will win the championship. Smaze extended his lead by quite a margin, which means that Söderquist will need 17 points more than Smaze in the final race to win.

# GPL-Spot Cup 2 Division 1 at Zandvoort.
Sunday 12, January 2003
The qualifying session went fairly well for TRT-1. Smaze managed to qualify at the front row, 2nd place. Söderquist seemed to have problems throughout the session, but managed to put in a late effort that put him up to 5th. Westerlund put his Lotus at 7th on the grid. The pole was grabbed by Karl Arlt with an impressive 1m24.239s.

After an exciting race filled with incidents, Smaze took third just ahead of Söderquist. Westerlund finished in 7th. Smaze, in second position, was involved in an incident while lapping the Ferrari of Anders Salomonsson on lap 18, and lost a position as a result. TRT has filed a protest against Salomonsson for this incident. The ruling has not yet been passed. The race was won by Karl Arlt.

# GPL-Spot Cup 2 Division 1 at Spa-Francorchamps.
Sunday 19, January 2003 at 23:25
Today the fourth race in the GPL-Spot Cup took place at a bright and sunny Spa-Francorchamps. The very popular track attracted a huge crowd as usual, and they were all eagerly awaiting the race as the roaring sound of the Formula 1 engines started up in the pits.

Qualifying saw TRT driver Christian "Keng" Westerlund put his car on the front row, second place. Smaze put his Lotus on fourth and Söderquist on sixth. Pole position was grabbed by a reborn Hector Babylon from Dark Heat Racing with a stunning 3m15.673s.

The race got away to a pretty clean start, as the seventeen formula one racers opened their throttles and headed towards Eau Rouge. Westerlund was unfortunate enough to have a spin while breaking for Blanchimont, and he finished in 8th position. Söderquist and Smaze found themselves in a long fight for third position most of the race. Söderquist got the better deal, as he managed to put a pass on Smaze on the approach to Masta, as Smaze had a bad exit from Bournenville. Hence they finished third and fourth. The race was won by Hector Babylon.

Here are the inofficial results from the race:

# Söderquist goes -50!
Sunday 9, February 2003 at 01:09
Tonight Magnus Söderquist joined his teammates in the -50's. He accomplished this by putting in a few quick laptimes at the Nordschleife (8m 02.64s) and among others Rouen Les-Essarts (1m 54.71s).

This is the latest of a virtual flood of TRT milestones. The opposition must be asking themselves, when will it end...

# Westerlund breaks the 8min barrier at the Ring!
Friday 7, February 2003 at 22:55
Christian Westerlund just managed to reach the most prestigious milestone in GPL, namely the 8min barrier at the Nurburgring. With a lap time of 7:59.19, he even managed his first sub-8 with quite the margin. Big congrats, Westerlund!

This makes him the favourite for the upcoming Nurburgring race, in the Spot-Cup 2, on Sunday. It promises to be a very interesting race. Stay tuned...

# Smaze and Söderquist goes all green on GPLrank!
Thursday 23, January 2003 at 05:03
Yesterday TRT-1 drivers Smaze and Söderquist managed to set their last negative benchmark times. Now all cars are below the benchmark on all the GPLrank tracks! All in all, there were only three swedish drivers who had managed this before. Now, they are five.

# GPLWC: Sweden2 vs Sweden1.
Friday 17, January 2003 at 20:15
Yesterday, Thursday the 16th of January, Sweden2 had its first race in the GPLWC. The opposition was the very fast and alien Sweden1.

The first race was set at Kyalami. Pole was grabbed by Sweden1 driver Mattias Holkedahl with an impressive 1m18.545s. The highest qualifying Sweden2 driver was Hector Babylon (DHR) who qualified 6th. TRT drivers Söderquist, Westerlund and Smaze put their cars at 9th, 10th and 13th.

The race got off to a bad start with an accident at turn 2, which took out Sweden2 drivers Olsson, Söderquist and Westerlund, along with Sweden1 driver Gċrdewall. Holkedahl won the race, after leading from start to finish. The highest finishing Sweden2 driver was Hector Babylon who managed to grab sixth. Smaze finished 9th after a very lonely race due to the accident.

The qualifying at Rouen showed a bit more competitiveness from Sweden2. Pole was again grabbed by Holkedahl in the Sweden1 Lotus, and again Babylon was the quickest Sweden2 driver at 4th. As for TRT, Söderquist followed at 6th, Westerlund at 12th and Smaze at 13th.

The race start again had some accidents which took out Sweden2 driver Lars Mossberg's BRM. During the first half of the race, Babylon put some pressure on Roger Andersson in the Eagle at 5th position, while Söderquist was driving a quite lonely race at 6th. On lap five however, Babylon spun his Eagle and Söderquist passed. The race was again won by the impressively dominant Holkedahl. Highest finishing TRT and Sweden2 driver was Söderquist at 5th in the Ferrari. He was followed by Babylon and Westerlund. Smaze finished in 9th once again.

Race reports are availiable here:

http://djurner.com/trt/reports/GPLWC_Swe1_vs_Swe2_Kyalami/

The next race in the GPLWC for Sweden2 is on the 26th against Portugal.

# Smaze goes -60!
Tuesday 11, March 2003 at 03:35
Early this morning, Smaze managed to break the -60 barrier, about one month after reaching -50. He's the first TRT driver to do this, and he's now done with his new year's resolution for 2004. :) Way to go, Smaze!

# GPL-Spot Cup 2 Division 2 at Rouen Les-Essarts.
Sunday 2, February 2003 at 09:06
Here are some late news, from the fifth race of the season, in Spot Cup 2 Div 2. The race was held at Rouen Les-Essarts.

Last race, TRT-2 only had two drivers qualifying and racing, due to Zacke being unavailable. For this race, TRT-2 had their full team available, yet only two drivers would get on the track and qualify. This was due to the fact that Zio was disqualified for doing a reset on the grid, accidentally of course, during the last race. Sorry to say, practice didn't go too well for TRT-2. Dulann was the fastest of the TRT-2 drivers with a time of 2m02.470s. This put Dulann on the 10th position on the grid. Zacke grabbed the 14th spot with 2m08.016s. Zio automatically placed 15th and last, since he was the only one not allowed to qualify.
Urban Alsenmyr grabbed pole with 1m58.646s.

After a couple of strong races, especially from Dulann, TRT-2 was looking forward to yet another good race. The result however, points in the opposite direction.
TRT-2 had quite an eventful race, as did most other drivers. Not many succeeded in keeping all four wheels on the track at all times.
Dulann finished the race at 9th place, Zacke 13th and Zio 14th. TRT-2 made some protests for some, of the many, incidents. Most of them would be judged as racing incidents, and they tend to be many on this, not so easy, track.
As usual, Zio would turn out to be the bad boy for TRT-2, again being mentioned in the judges report. This time for making a SnG on the "last" lap. Zio excuses himself with not knowing how many times he was lapped and that he wanted to race a few more laps. ;)
Congratulations goes out to Curry, who won the race at Rouen.

Better late then never (or is that just an excuse for lazy people?). /Zio

# GPLWC: Sweden2 vs Portugal1 at Rouen Les-Essarts.
Tuesday 28, January 2003 at 00:30
Tonight Sweden2 raced Portugal1 at Rouen Les-Essarts and Watkins Glen. Sweden2 were clear favorites for this meeting, and they managed to obliterate a well and fair fighting Portugal1.

The Rouen pole position was grabbed by TRT-1 driver Magnus Söderquist with a 1m55.646s in his Ferrari. The first Portuguese driver was Paulo Marques (Lotus) in fifth with a laptime of 1m57.559s. Smaze put his Cooper at 6th on the grid, and Westerlund with the Honda qualified at 7th position.

Södequist held on to the lead from start until finish, and hence won the race. Smaze finished in third and Westerlund in fourth position. Sweden2 occupied the places 1-4th and 7,11,12 wich gave them a point tally of 37 to 12.

# Christian Westerlund triumphs at Rouen!
Sunday 26, January 2003 at 23:53
Tonight the fifth round of the Spot Cup 2 was held at Rouen Les-Essarts. The division 1 race started at 21:30 and would turn out to be a pretty successful one for TRT-1.

Qualifying saw Westerlund take pole position just ahead of Smaze at second. The pole lap was an impressive 1m55.150s. Söderquist qualified on the third row, fifth position.

An exciting race saw Westerlund holding out, leading the race from start to finish. Smaze lost a place to DHR's Hector Babylon, who finished in second. Smaze finished third, and holds on to the championship lead. Söderquist passed Nathan Ċkerlund on the third lap, and finished in fourth position.

Inofficial race results:
http://djurner.com/trt/reports/SC2_Rouen_Div1/

# TRT's Magnus Söderquist goes -60.
Saturday 3, May 2003 at 21:50
Tonight Söderquist put in the times needed to put him in the -60's. He accomplished this by bettering his Spa personal best by almost a second, and polishing his recent pb at Monaco by a few hundreds of a second. Söderquist comment on the matter was "I really, really, loathe Spa.".

# Smaze takes pole and wins the Monza SC2 race!
Sunday 23, February 2003 at 23:30
It was raceday tonight at Monza. The Spot-Cup 2 held its ninth race out of eleven. It was to be a pretty exiting and successful event for TRT-1. Unfortunatly Christian Westerlund could not take part in the race.

Qualifying saw Smaze grab pole position ahead of Hector Babylon with a lap time of 1m27.334s. Söderquist had a somewhat troublesome qualifying with some mechanical problems. He still managed to put his Lotus in third.

When the flag dropped it seemed like the TRT drivers were asleep, and they both lost a position into Curva Grande. One has to wonder what the cause of this simultaneous lapse of concentration could be... Söderquist had a hard battle for third with Torbjörn Stċhl, with several passes and repasses. On lap fifteen however, Söderquist made it stick and went hunting for second. However, he ran out of race laps before he could catch the front runners. Smaze drove a brilliant race, passing Babylon as he made a misstake at the Lesmo corners and went on to win the race.

Inofficial race report:
http://djurner.com/trt/reports/SC2_Monza_Div1/

This means that Smaze takes the lead back from Söderquist in the championship, leading with three points. TRT-1 further extends the lead in the teams' championship, with a total of 282 points. The distance to DHR-1 in second is an amazing 113 points, which means that TRT-1 now has secured the win! Well done TRT-1!

# TRT launches the new TRT web!
Sunday 12, January 2003
In time for the restart of the GPL-Spot Cup 2 after the holidays, TRT launches the new and improved TRT web site. New features includes a brand new layout and a gallery. The league section will follow shortly, as it is not entirely completed. Enjoy the world of Twiggy Racing!

# Twiggy Racing Team press release: TRT moves to F1C.
Wednesday 30, July 2003 at 19:15
The Twiggy Racing Team was formed almost to the day one year ago. TRT drivers have since managed to dominate and win both the first seasons of the Spot Cup.

Magnus Söderquist won the first Cup with two race wins while Henrik Djurner took second with one win. The TRT team collected the most points of any team in SC1 Division 1, and accomplished this with only two drivers.

In SC2, Henrik Djurner won the Cup with two race wins. Magnus Söderquist finished second, winning two races. Christian Westerlund took sixth, also winning two races. TRT drivers won 6 out of 11 races and claimed 7 pole positions. As icing on the cake TRT won the teams' championship scoring 337 points. DHR in second managed 192.

Between Spot Cup seasons, TRT also entered the Minute League, which was won by Henrik Djurner with 3 victories out of 7. Christian Westerlund took third, and Magnus Söderquist fifth. TRT won the teams' championship scoring 204 points, and second placed Dark Heat Racing managed to collect 165 points.

While SC2 was still ongoing, TRT drivers Henrik Djurner and Magnus Söderquist formed the Sweden2 team and entered the Grand Prix Legends World Championships. Together with Christian Westerlund, and a few other drivers, they competed against the very best in the world of GPL. The team did better than expected, and managed to get to quarter finals.

After all this the TRT team members feel it is time to move on to other challenges. An executive decision to move the team's main focus towards F1C has therefore been taken. This means that TRT will withdraw its entries from the SC3. We would like to thank the GPL-Spot and the Spot Cup management for their efforts.

# Magnus Söderquist goes sub eight at the ring!
Saturday 1, March 2003 at 10:59
At a Nürburgring practise session this afternoon TRT driver Magnus Söderquist managed to put in a sensational 7m 59.49s lap. Söderquist says: "It's been a long time coming, but finally my engineers gave me a car that could do it, and i have to say that i drove a brilliant lap."

This means that the entire TRT-1 team is now under the eight minute mark at the green hell. Well done!

# GPL Spot Cup 2 Div 1: Magnus Söderquist owns Silverstone!
Sunday 2, February 2003 at 23:20
Today the sixth race of the GPL-Spot Cup 2 took place at Silverstone, England. A total of sixteen race cars arrived for the showdown. TRT's Christian Westerlund could sadly not make the race however, but he will return in time for the next round.

Qualifying saw Hector Babylon (DHR) stealing pole position away from Söderquist with a laptime of 1m26.544s, just 0.01s ahead. Smaze suffered a lot of traffic, but still managed to put his Lotus on the second row, in third position.

The race got away with an untroubled start for the TRT drivers, keeping their positions. Smaze drove a safe race for third. Söderquist managed to put some pressure on Babylon for first position on lap fourteen, and it paid off as Babylon made a misstake at Abbey, allowing Söderquist to move up alongside him on Farm Straight, and finally put on a successful pass for the win at Woodcote.

# The Minute League GPL movie released.
Friday 3, January 2003 at 21:53

# GPL-Spot Cup 2 Division 2 at Zandvoort.
Sunday 12, January 2003
When the qualifying started, a bit late after some technical problems, TRT-2 managed to qualify at 9th, 11th and 12th positions. Fredrik Djurner being the quickest driver with a time of 1m29.125s. Pole was grabbed by Robert Nätblom with a time of 1m26.058s in his Ferrari.

In the race, Fredrik managed to make an impressive climb through the field, and ended up on the third step of the podium! TRT would like to thank Fredrik for his impressive effort, well done! Zacke and Zio finished at 9th and 10th position. The race was won by Kim Gustavsson.

# Spot Cup 2 Div 1 at Mosport: Söderquist takes his second win of the season.
Sunday 16, February 2003 at 23:30
Tonight it was time for the eighth race of the Spot Cup season 2. The venue was the Canadian race track Mosport. At Mosport qualifying is extremly important, since the overtaking opportunities ranges from scarse to nonexistent.

Qualifying saw TRT-1 dominate with three cars in the 1m 20s range. Smaze grabbed poleposition with an amazing 1m20.465s. Söderquist joined him on the front row, and Westerlund took third.

When the flag dropped at the start, Söderquist got a great start while Smaze lost the rear a bit, and lost his lead into turn one. Westerlund had to retire for medical reasons on lap nine. He's fine and will be at the grid next weekend at Monza. Smaze drove a steady race in second place, deciding not to force the issue with Söderquist in a display of excellent teamspirit. On lap 25 however, he was pushed off the road as Stċhl hit the curb and spun his Lotus into Smaze. Smaze finished in third. Söderquist drove a safe race to finish first, putting in his second win of the season.

Today TRT releases their second movie entitled "I could walk but I'll just drive". It features driving by the Sweden2 team in practise at the Nürburgring. "This movie was a bit of a quicke from idea to finished product" says director Magnus Söderquist. "It's been put on the shelf for a few weeks waiting for the finishing touch though, so it's good to be able to release it finally".

# GPL-Spot Cup 2 Division 2 at Spa-Francorchamps.
Monday 20, January 2003 at 03:33
The fourth race of this GPL-Spot Cup, at Spa-Francorchamps, was quite a popular one. Out of the 18 competing drivers in the cup, 15 showed up. This is most likely the highest peak of attendance this season. Despite that, only two drivers showed up for TRT-2. We missed our beloved driver, Zacke, who couldn't attend the race.

The qualifying, which was extended from the usual 20 minutes to 30 minutes, didn't go very well for TRT-2. Dulann placed at P10 with a time of 3m25.009s and Zio placed last at P15 with 3m44.214s. Robert Nätblom took pole with 3m20.409s.

The race start went pretty well. Everything seemed to go smooth past L'Eau Rouge. In Les Combes, on the other hand, a few cars went off the track. Zio, who started last, couldn't avoid the sliding cars, and accidentaly hit one of them.
Dulann managed to perform yet another solid race. During the second half of the race, he made some really good laps, the fastest one at 3m24.796s, and managed to climb a few places up to 5th spot.
Zio, who had a few accidents, took the last place quite comfortably. His fastest lap was clocked at 3m38.962s. The race was won by Anders Mansell.

A big thanks goes out to Dulann, who performed yet another strong race. Dulann is now stabilizing in the top five. Let's see if he can keep his performance up for the next race, at Rouen.

# Smaze breaks the 8min barrier at the Ring!
Monday 10, February 2003 at 08:30
This morning, the impressive flood of milestones accomplished by the TRT drivers continued. This time, it was Smaze joining his team mate, Westerlund, on the other side of the 8min barrier at the Nurburgring with a lap time of 7:59.478. Big congrats, Smaze!

Of less importance, this marks the first time that Smaze has a lower handicap than Westerlund. However, this isn't expected to last very long.

# GPLWC: Sweden2 vs Portugal1 at Watkins Glen.
Tuesday 28, January 2003 at 00:30
Practise at Watkins Glen was totally dominated by Sweden2. Pole position was however not grabbed by a Swede, but by hard driving Portuguese driver Paulo Marques. After him followed the Swedes, from 2nd to 8th position! Söderquist was the highest qualifying TRT driver at fifth, Westerlund sixth with the Honda, while Smaze put the Cooper in seventh.

Marques managed to hold on to the lead until the seventh lap, where the pressure by Lars Mossberg in the Brabham proved too much for him and he had a spin in the loop. This left Sweden2 cruising to a safe victory, with Mossberg taking first position. The TRT drivers Söderquist and Smaze finished in third and fourth positions, while Westerlund had to retire on lap seven when he ran out of fuel in his Honda.

With this result, Sweden2 takes a dominating victory over Portugal1 and walks away with 3 GPLWC points! Now they have to get another three points against Denmark1 in order to advance from the group.
